Hi guys, it's Caitlin aka Cat! I have a crazy schedule from dancing, teaching/mentoring, learning new skills, to taking care of my dog Ace. Being on that crazy schedule I need to find time for myself. So here is a sneak peek into my world.
I have been a dancer my whole life, mom put me in dance when she opened up Dance Connection LV (the first ever DC!) I can't remember a time where I wasn't dancing. Between being the owners daughter, traveling with companies, and having a LA agent. I got really busy and encountered a lot of jealousy. With guidance and mentors, i learn that all those people saying "Oh you just have it cause your mom is the owner." "You will never make it in the industry." "You just got an agent because your Cherilyn's daughter." all those mean things people said behind my back, made me who I am today. It pushed me to be better and prove them wrong. So I did. I traveled with West Coast Dance Explosions Company "Fuzion", and Hollywood Connections company "HC Teen Co''. I moved to LA when I turned 18. I auditioned for many things. I ended up on IAFs projects and training 16 hours a day! I got to do a New Years gig with Missy Cochran, back up dancing with Natasha Bedingfield. I also did Vidcon with Kristin McQuaid as a back up dancer with Nia Siouxs. I modeled for Paul Mitchel and Kevin Murphy. All this because I worked hard and went for what I want.
I am a teacher as well as a mentor. I take teaching to the next level and try to connect with every student I meet. This is why, one day I hope to be a convention teacher and meet/teach tons of dancers. On top of teaching dance, I am in the process of becoming a life coach. This way, I can continue to take my teaching/mentoring to the next level. My goal is to build confidence in all dancers as well as responsibly, manners, and of course their dance technique. I started my own business called "Confident Artistic Thrivers" . It's all about bringing the confidence out of the person by showing who they are on the inside and outside. This fashion line helps you dress and feel confident in yourself. We have custom products, handmade CAT ears and lots more. You can check it all out at www.becat.biz I hope to one day bring CAT to studios and conventions around the nation.
One of the many things I do to help myself is my dog, Ace. He is a certified Emotional Support Animal. Which means he can come with me anywhere I go. This helps me when I am stressed or just need a good snuggle. Ace is a pug and is only 3yrs old, he's very well behaved (in public) and takes great care of me. Another thing I do is play "The Sims 4" . It is a game where you control the sims (peoples) actions and life. I find this very relaxing. Self care is important especially when you have a crazy busy life like me. My day normally starts at 8am and ends by 11pm. During those hours I teach/mentor dancers, take dance classes, eat of course, take care of Ace, take care of me, and see my boyfriend. It's a lot to do in one day but I get it all done.
I hope you enjoyed this sneak peek into the world of Cat. Stay tuned for more blogs, and let me know how you liked this one! If you have any questions or suggestions on what I should blog next just message/email me! See you guys next time!
